Dr. Ilyas Munshi - Veteran Neurosurgeon in Brain and Spine Surgery
Dr. Ilyas Munshi is a board-certified neurosurgeon with over two decades of experience in brain, spine, and peripheral nerve surgery. He earned his medical degree from Rush Medical College and completed a neurosurgical residency at the University of Chicago before beginning his practice in Lafayette, Louisiana, in 2001. Dr. Ilyas Munshi's work includes complex spinal procedures, minimally invasive surgery, and computer-assisted image-guided techniques.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Munshi has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented research at national neurosurgical conferences. His career achievements include being named among Newsweek’s 15 leaders in Neurosurgery in 2011. He has medical licenses in Louisiana, New York, and Illinois, and is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and North American Spine Society.
Dr. Ilyas Munshi continues to take part in professional development, attending courses on advanced microsurgical, spinal, and minimally invasive methods. Outside of medicine, he pursues interests including golf, skiing, running, coin and stamp collecting, and travel.
